Anterior knee pain is pain that occurs in the anterior or central parts of the knee. There are several underlying causes of this pain, including for example patellafemoral instability or subluxation or Osgood-Schlatter’s disease. The pain may be aggravated by simple everyday activities such as pressing an automobile brake pedal or remaining in a seated position for an extended period.In some cases, the patient may also report a degree of instability while traversing stairs or ramps.
