Ischiocapsular Sprain

An ischiocapsular sprain refers to injury caused by damage in the form of overextension, tearing or rupture to the ischiocapsular ligament located on the posterior side of the hip. This ligament is responsible for limiting the internal rotation of the hip. As with other types of sprain, the symptoms of this injury include pain, swelling and bruising in the hip area as well as possible stiffness, muscle spasms and difficulty walking. If you have been diagnosed with this injury, or would like to take steps to reduce the risk of experiencing it, you should consider compression shorts or other products like the ones below. As always, please make your choice in co-ordination with your health service providers.
