Medial patella tracking refers to a condition involving an imbalance in the gliding of the patella (kneecap) that aggravates the cartilage behind the knee. Instead of gliding vertically as the knee bends, the patella is pulled upward and inward (towards the medial side of the knee) as it attempts to move upward along the groove. The result is pain in the lateral and anterior sides of the knee, clicking sounds and swelling. the pain may be especially bothersome after long periods of sitting. The condition is also known as patellofemoral pain syndrome. If you have been diagnosed with it, you should consider one of the braces below to help manage the pain of the condition.Any decision should be made based on guidance from your doctor.
