Steri Strips

3M Steri Strips are sterile wound closure dressings the primary use of which is closure of superficial (as opposed to deep) incisions. These sterile dressings can be applied to superficial lacerations in such a way as to pull together the skin on either side of your wound. This promotes faster healing of the wound.

The tension the Steri Strips apply to the wound is less than that applied by suturing. However, the tradeoff is that using Steri-Strips reduces the risk of infection or scarring.

You can buy 3M Steri-Strips in the following sizes:

• 1/2 in by 4 in, 50 sleeves per box, 6 strips per sleeve;
• 1/4 in by 1.5 in, 50 sleeves per box, 6 strips per sleeve;
• 1/8 in by 3 in, 50 sleeves per box, 5 strips per sleeve.

Steri Strips are both sold and priced by the sleeve.
