Dermacea Gauze Sponges

Dermacea Gauze Sponges are cost effective solutions to your need for dressings made from 100% cotton gauze. They are available in both sterile and non sterile forms and in 3 sizes. For the smallest wounds, the 2″ x 2″ size may be optimal, but there are also 3″ x 3″ and 4″ x 4″  versions for larger wounds.  The sponges are all 8 ply ( 2″x2″)  or 12 ply (3″x3″ and 4″x4″) to avoid leakage of wound exudate. For wounds with very high drainage levels, the 12 ply versions offer maximum absorbency.

Dermacea Gauze Sponges can wick fluid towards abdominal pads or secondary dressings This helps to prevent skin and/or tissue maceration (tissue degradation as a result of exposure to moisture).

These Gauze Sponges are also useful for wound prepping and packing. They have an open weave design that helps with dead tissue removal from your skin surface and thus enhances wound preparation. The Sponges are also ideal if you need to pack open wounds or if you are planning to remove foreign matter from a wound before applying a bandage covering.
