Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is a versatile and user friendly dressing that features a highly absorbent cotton core enclosed by a perforated non adherent film. It preserves the ideal balance between preserving a moist wound environment and removal of wound exudate and is ideal for lightly draining wounds.
The Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing features a cotton core bonded all around with a non adherent perforated film. The film is manufactured to a precise specification of 300 holes per sq. inch. With these specifications, the Island Dressings will provide an ideal balance between exudate migration and non adherence. For optimal absorbency, the dressing’s core is composed of 100% USP grade cotton. In addition, it transmits moisture vapor at a rate that supports a moist environment to promote wound healing.
The Adhesive Island Dressing will conform around your wound and seal it it off from the external environment. This will help to reduce the infection risk. To further reduce infection risk, you can steam sterilize the film.
Island Dressings are ideal for treating lightly draining wounds. They can also function as secure dressings for peripheral and central intravenous sites.
Telfa Adhesive Island Dressings are user friendly enough for you to use at home or in a clinical setting. You can look at them as an alternative to band aids – except that they will fit more comfortably and also come in larger sizes. They are an essential accessory for every first aid kit or medicine cabinet.
You can buy the Covidien Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing in four sizes: 2″ x 3.75″, 4″ X 5″, 4″ X 10″ and 4″ x 14″
