Body Armor Night Splint

The Darco Body Armor Night Splint actively engages the foot’s windlass mechanism to stretch the plantar fascia. It also applies a continuous low level stretch to the Achilles tendon, flexor tendons and calf muscles.

The Body Armor Night Splint’s toe strap applies a dorsiflexing force to the first MPJ. The result is stretching of the plantar fascia as well as the flexor tendons, calf muscles and Achilles tendon. This loading of the windlass mechanism produces a near 90º angle of the foot/ankle joint. This in turn eliminates the “lever effect” and also removes the resulting pressure on the ankle’s apex that is usually experienced in other dorsal models.

The Body Armor Night Splint also has an elastic connector ring that supports natural foot and toe flexion during sleep. It also helps to return the foot to its dorsiflexed position as your muscles relax.
