Curity Eye Pads can be used after an eye injury or surgery as a bandage over the eye for protection or absorption of secretions.
Covidien Curity Eye Pads are sterile and ready to use. They offer rapid eye relief as well as care for your eye after you have undergone surgical care. Internally, Eye Pads are made from an absorbent cotton filler with long fibers. The outside of the Pads has a fine mesh gauze. They also have an oval, contoured shape to match the shape of the eye.
If you have suffered an eye injury, Curity Eye Pads can serve as a protective bandage covering the eye, or for secretion absorption. They will help to reduce the risk of infection.
Eye Pads are supplied in ready to use and sterile peel-back packaging. One per package in a conveniently designed dispensing carton. Size of each Eye Pad is 1.625″ by 2.625″.
Covidien Curity Eye Pads – Indications
- Useful for eye injuries and will help to heal the eye in the aftermath of a trauma like a corneal abrasion;
- Can be used to help the eye to rest after hyphaema or vitreous haemorrhage;
- Also useful after application of eye medication;
- Will help to protect the eye after eye surgery.
Curity Eye Pads - Instructions For Use
While wearing the pad, it is important not to open the affected eye under it. If necessary, the eyelids should be taped closed before application of the pad. Wash hands before and after applying the eye pad.
-Attach a strip of adhesive tape to the eye pad
-With both eyes closed, position the eye pad diagonally over the lids of the affected eye.
-Attach the tape firmly but gently to the forehead and cheek
-Attach a second and third strips of tape to keep the pad lying flat.
-If necessary, an additional shield (known as a Cartella shield) can be applied over the eye pad for extra protection.
